I have a lot of goals! As should everyone else in my opinion. If we don’t have goals then what are we doing on this earth? Most of us who live in a highly developed country are doing more than simply surviving, we are thriving as a human species, so why not have goals? It’s not like we are in a war zone, where people are dying on a daily basis right in front of us!!!
I have some goals that I would like to hopefully attain one day. I have big goals and small goals. A lot of times I am so focused on the big goals that they overwhelm me and I feel like I will never achieve them. Which reminds me of a previous experience that will serve as an analogy. When I was in Marine Combat Training on Camp Pendleton we would go on these looong humps(hikes for y civilians)with ton of gear on our backs, our weapon and ammunition. If you have ever driven down the interstate 5 freeway through Pendleton then you will have noticed that the ocean is one one side and some mountains on the other. (one of the mountains is called Mount Motherf*cker). So anyways, during these humps I would not like up, because I didnt want to see the hugeness mountain, all I would do is look down and keep one foot in front of the other. Before you know it the hump was over and we were ready to chow down on some MRE’s(Meals Ready to Eat).
So I gues the moral of the story is this: You know your big goal, But while you are striving for that goal, keep one foot in front of the other and keep moving forward. Each step is a small goal towards your big goal! And before you know it you will reach your BIG GOAL!!!!
